REXS V1.7 to V2.0
Enhancements
Change from REXS version 1.7
The notch_effect_generic component has been added, see Notches. It can be used for notch locations that do not correspond to the usual standard notches and for which notch factors have been determined through experimental or numerical investigations.
Change from REXS version 1.7
The profile_tool component has been added, see Tools and manufacturing settings. There are two basic types of profile tools:
A rack with curved (negative) flanks and without tangential movement in the manufacturing process (typically used in the manufacture of steel gears).
A negative of the actual gear (typically used for plastic gears).
Change from REXS version 1.7
The Modeling guideline: quasi-static analysis was extended.

Various extensions and adjustments to the attributes. These are documented in the changelog of the REXS database .
Modifications
Change from REXS version 1.7
From version 2.0.0 onwards, REXS versioning follows the rules of semantic versioning, see http://semver.org.
The main version is incremented when breaking changes are made to the existing specification (2.X, 3.X, ...).
The subversion is increased when extensions are made to the existing specification (2.1, 2.2, etc.).
Change from REXS version 1.7
Topographical deviations of cylindrical gears can now only be defined as structured point clouds, see Use case: 3D tooth flank geometry.
